Description
The idea to establish a Teacher Education College (PTPG) by Prof. Moh. Yamin, SH (Minister of Education, Teaching and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia) in the 1950s was welcomed by Catholic priests, especially the Order of the Societas Jesus (Society of Jesus, commonly abbreviated as SJ). At that time this Order had opened B1 courses, including B1 Educate (De Britto Foundation) in Yogyakarta which was managed by Fr. H. Loeff, SJ and B1 English (Loyola Foundation) in Semarang which was managed by Fr. Van der Meulen, SJ and Fr. H. Bastiaanse, SJ
