Often, abnormalities of the type mentioned also lead to difficulties in learning to read and write. In order to further help the affected children in a targeted manner, small classes were set up (with a maximum of 12 children), in which specially trained teachers teach. All of our students have language needs that have been determined beforehand by means of a test procedure. The teachers who teach the main subjects are special educators who have been specially trained for this area. This means that we are also able to offer special speech therapy in small groups for 2 hours a week in addition to school support. Many of our students can attend the 3rd regular class of their catchment area school after completing the small class. In addition to school support, we attach great importance to excursions. We also regularly hold a reading night during which the children spend the night with us at school. Celebrating the birthday together but also general holidays are important to us. Our goal is to give our students a good start in regular school. And we are also very successful in this.
