Our family doctor center (formerly joint practice Vallée, Weigand, Kahlert, Schütz-Karden, Gossen) has been located in the spacious and bright rooms of the former town hall in the Aachen-Forst district, which was built in 1906 in Art Nouveau style, since 1994. At the moment, general practitioner care is provided in our practice by six general practitioners. To ensure a timely supply of acute health problems we have in addition to the appointment office hours daily open office hours on without an appointment. Our practice is open all year round except on weekends and public holidays. The practice is closed for organizational purposes only on one Wednesday in each quarter. The focus of our activity is the internal medicine-family doctor spectrum, for which all doctors are qualified. In technical examinations addition to laboratory diagnostics, EKG, long-term EKG, long-term blood pressure measurement, ultrasound of the thyroid gland and abdominal organs, blood flow measurement of the leg vessels and lung function tests are available for . As part of prevention , we carry out health examinations, skin cancer screening examinations, cancer screening examinations for men from 45 years of age and youth health examinations between the ages of 13 and 15. We also offer palliative care, acupuncture treatment, smoking cessation therapy and basic psychosomatic care. We offer patients with chronic diseases (e.g. diabetes mellitus, COPD, asthma and coronary heart disease) regular care within the framework of disease management programs (DMP) and we conduct diabetes training courses. We regularly make home visits to our very old and disabled patients and look after patients in several old people's and nursing homes. Since 2008 we have been a recognized yellow fever vaccination center (Dr. Schütz-Karden, M. Weigand) and provide travel medical health advice. Our practice is an academic teaching practice of the RWTH Aachen and a member of the family doctor further education association Aachen and thus also ensure a promotion of the next generation of family doctors and a strengthening of general medicine.
