The General Hospital

　The General Hospital of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force is located in the west of Diaoyutai, Fucheng Road, Haidian District, Beijing. It is adjacent to the towering CCTV tower and the rippling Yuyuantan Park on the east side, and surrounded by the clear winding Kunyu River on the southwest side. At present, the total area is 150,000 square meters and the total construction area is about 300,000 square meters. 　　The hospital was founded in May 1950 and officially opened on October 25, 1956. It is the birthplace of new China's military aviation medicine. It is mainly responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of aviation diseases and common diseases for air force pilots, as well as medical identification tasks; undertakes the task of physical examination and selection of reserve astronauts; undertakes the health protection and disease treatment of air force and joint logistics forces; also provides high-quality medical services to the people . It has developed into a large modern comprehensive tertiary Class A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and preventive health care.
