In the early 1970s, Rijk Bleijenberg, the company's CEO and founder, began his career as a representative for an American chemical company. During one of his stays in the United States, he became acquainted with chemical cleaning methods for refrigerators. He introduced this method in the Netherlands and started his own company in 1976. In the following years the demand for corrosion protection for the heat exchangers of condensers increased. A special product has been developed to offer a suitable solution to the most important customers in the Netherlands. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Shell, Philips, Schiphol Airport and the Aalsmeer flower auction were some of the first customers for this special Blygold protective treatment. After the success in the Netherlands, Blygold International was founded in 1996 to meet the ever growing demand. Blygold is now represented in more than 40 countries and is a household name in the HVAC market. This is primarily thanks to the committed partners who have decided to work with Blygold and who benefit from this formula for success.
